Assala Energy acquires Total Gabon’s remaining stake in the Rabi-Kounga Block

Assala Energy announced today a 25-year renewal of four of its onshore production licences, as well as the acquisition of three new onshore exploration licences.

Assala Energy today announced a three-year program with Space for Giants, an international conservation organisation that protects the habitat of Africa’s elephant populations. Assala Energy, an oil and gas exploration and production company backed by The Carlyle Group, plans to support an extensive project to build a series of fences around community farm-land in Gabon, which will protect elephants and foster economic growth.

Assala Energy today announced the acquisition of Total Gabon’s remaining equity in the Rabi-Kounga Block, located in southern Gabon. Assala Energy has operated the Rabi-Kounga Block since November 2017, following its acquisition of Shell’s onshore assets in Gabon.

Assala Energy today announced it has completed the acquisition of Shell’s onshore assets in Gabon, Africa, for a total of USD $628 million including an amount equivalent to interest. This sale, backed by the Carlyle Group, was announced on 24 March 2017 with an economic date of 31 December 2015. With this transaction, Assala Energy will assume debt of USD $285 million.

Carlyle-backed Assala Energy today announced the acquisition of Shell’s onshore assets in Gabon, Africa, for $587 million. Assala Energy will also assume associated liabilities, including a loan of $285 million.
